Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Don't miss this little storefront gem. The locals seem to have found this place. The other Mexican food places in town seem to be over priced and you get ambience over authentic taste. We ate there about 2pm and the place was busy. It is small but the food was hot and well seasoned. The salsa was fresh and spicy. The Margaritas were large and very good. The shredded beef was very tender and tasty. I wish we had found this place sooner instead of paying such high prices for mediocre Mexican food. The servers were fast, attentive and accurate with the orders. Overall a very good place to eat in Pagosa.

Ordered tacos Mexicano under specials and they're great. Pork are the best. Quac & refried beans are good too. Salsa is just okay. Enjoyed it overall.

great tacos, awesome margs. Don't judge a book by it's cover type place. Worth a stop if you're passing through Pagosa!

Our 1st night here we were unsure where to go so we stopped at the 1st place we saw which was this place. Large menu that had a mix range of Mexican food. I took the waiters suggestion and ordered the Carne Asada, it was delicious the rice was over cooked but other than that it was great. There we three of us eating and could have really shared one plate since the portions are so big! Definitely a nice surprise.

Can't believe how awesome the magaritas are. Consistently good food. Never a disappointment, and always enjoyable. I am pretty sure his is where all the locals are eating tonight.

Great experience. Great food. We were recommended to this place by a local outfitter named Larry, that took us horseback riding earlier in the day. He had nothing but good things to say about the place. The margarita was large and good! My family and I would definitely visit again!

Ok I went back and had the carnitas and they where perfect. Still the best margaritas in town. I meet Lee I guess the regional manager and he is soooo friendly. Always tending to the guests and helping the rest of the staff. He kinda reminds me of Wayne Newton coming in through the front doors. I'll be back.

Great food and a pleasant surprise right off Route 160. The food was authentic and the service was fast and friendly. It is clearly a popular local spot and was crowded, though we did not have to wait. It was a perfect spot for us to stop on our through town and left us all very happy.

The food was very good. Seafood ceviche was fresh and plentiful. The tamale was just okay. Also had a beef Barbados burrito that was tasty and filling. Happy hour marguerites were also well made and generous. The room and atmosphere are nothing special.

Excellent service and great food. Best chicken tortilla soup I've ever had! The atmosphere isn't wonderful, but the food makes up for it.

This was recommended to us by a local resident. It was interesting that there were no other reviews. The salsa is homemade and has a kick and they serve warm chips. The margaritas are awesome... MAYBE high priced? Our daughter loves horchata, and she loved theirs. The green chili is not spicy, but has REAL taste. Portion size was larger, so good value for the price. All in all, we will be back!

We are here twice during our week stay. Margaritas were great! Good was good and portions were large. We had more than enough for leftovers. Very reasonable prices!

Excellent chips and salsa! The regular salsa was great and they have a salsa bar - we had one of the fire roasted too which was very good. I had steak fajitas - very good (a tad overboard on the amount of onions) and huge plate of sides (sour cream, guac, beans, rice). My dinner companion had pollo asada and he loved it (I had several bites and it had great flavor and was very tender). Overall excellent food - atmosphere isn't the best and not a lot of seating but would recommend.

My husband and I love Mexican, and especially carne asada. This place has THEE most awful carne asada ever, it was literally inedible! Our 5 month old was teething and very fussy, so I stayed home while he got our food to go, otherwise I would have handed it right back and gotten a refund. It was so tough and chewy, I would chew and chew and chew (because the food wasn't cheap!) and could not get it down. I ended up eating the chips and salsa (which was very good!) and rice and beans. A $25 meal between the two of us that was almost worthless. ALSO, we got their "fried ice cream." I'm sorry, but an authentic Mexican restaurant should not claim that their scoop of ice cream covered in Frosted Flakes (?!?!) is "FRIED." Huge disappointment.
